Cadillac Suede Leather Seat Inserts mean better Cornering

Split leather is leather created from the fibrous part of the hide left once the top-grain of the rawhide has been separated from the hide.

Suede Leather is split leather that has been brushed to create a fuzzy or napped surface.  A suede surface in a car seat provides more friction and keeps the driver or passenger in the seat.

The V-Series Cadillacs bring world class acceleration and cornering ability, and it becomes increasingly important to keep the driver in control of the vehicle dynamics.

Cadillac has been using suede leather center inserts in the V-Series seats as an esthetically pleasing, attractive and simple way to keep you in your seat.

The closer one examines the thoughtful engineering built in to Cadillac automobiles, the more desirable they become.

Cadillac CTS Coupe adds Standard Model

When the 2011 Cadillac CTS Coupe was initially planned, Performance and Premium Models were planned for RWD and for AWD V6 Coupes, and the CTS-V V8 Coupe.

In May a 1SB ‘Standard’ Model of the CTS Coupe joined the Performance and Premium models.  This “1SB CTS Coupe” is now the least expensive offering.  It still includes the 304 hp 3.6L DI V6 engine, FE2 Sport suspension, and Stabilitrak.  One assumes it trades some features for a lower price point.   The Standard 1SB CTS Coupe only comes with Automatic Transmission.

I liked the original offering of only Performance and Premium Models, but more choices are always good for the Consumer.  There may be Buyers who are stretching to get into a Cadillac CTS Coupe, and want to trade some amenities for that low price point.  More power to them if this change helps them get into the CTS Coupe and enjoy the Cadillac Experience.

When you know the difference, you want a Cadillac

Even the most basic of automobiles provides fundamental transportation, perhaps with varying results in reliability.

However, to coin a phrase,

Life is too short to drive a crappy car.

I have owned and driven very minimalist cars, and I have owned and driven feature rich luxury cars.  I prefer luxury automobiles because I recognize that there is a difference, and  appreciate the difference.

I would not suggest that anyone spend beyond their means for an automobile.  We all need to spend less than we ‘make’, and one’s automobile tastes also have to fit into one’s budget.

Given the opportunity and means however, I am drawn to a vehicle that is sporty and luxurious.

The current Cadillac line plays right into this field — want more SPORTY?  Go with the V-Series.  Want more LUXURY? Go with the Platinum Models.  Want a good mix of sporty, luxury, and economy?  Look for options on the standard Cadillac models.

Yes, BMW, Mercedes, Lexus all make luxury cars as well.  However, the more time I spend with Cadillac automobiles and the better I understand the care and engineering that goes into the Cadillac line the less likely I am to purchase a competitor.    I have driven the competition back to back with Cadillac models.  I was glad I drove home in a Cadillac.
