Cars & Coffee Dallas 2011-06-04 Cadillac Report

Headed over to Cars & Coffee Dallas at Classic BMW this morning.  The spirit of Cars & Coffee to me is everyone bringing out their ‘weekend’ cars, park them in a convenient spot, then walk around, look at cars, and chat with other people who enjoy chatting about cars.

Emily and Charlie brought out Emily’s 2006 Cadillac STS-V and parked the V and Charlie’s CrossFire Corvette next to my 2008 STS-V.  Emily and Charlie actually each have STS-V’s but were bringing the Vette out to show.  Loved their stories of various adventures traveling to research cars over the years.

You can tell the close family resemblance across the STS-V series years; the model was produced from 2006-2009.

Judging from the wheels, I think this is a 1992 Allante next to a 1996 Eldorado, both of which looked clean and well cared for.

I snapped this CTS Coupe in Black Diamond so you can see the very aggressive flaking in the black paint.   You can’t see the flakes at all without direct sunlight, then they literally glitter in the sun.

Classic Cadillacs were represented by this old school convertible Cadillac DeVille

Jesse DiGiroloma brought out his custom Cadillac DTS done by Jesse’s JD’s Custom Auto

 

with a full custom audio setup in the trunk.  They also offer other custom auto services such as video headrests and custom navigation system installs.

Looked like some very nice detail work on the whole setup.  Although I had guessed this setup was best for parking lot listening, actually the sound is channeled back into the Cadillac.

All in all it was a fun morning, and then I headed out to lunch at Freddy’s with Charlie from Burnoutradio.com, Berry from TeamHallnNaas.com, Sally Cannon from Cannon Academy of Money, LLC, and entourage (sorry I forgot one name).

The V Racer colors are probably done using a vinyl wrap.  That makes it quick and easy to get the same effect every time,  after repairs, etc.

I would like to see Cadillac offer a wrap like this as an option for Customer Cadillac CTS-V Coupes.

Yes, I know it is not a conservative look  for a road car, but this is the sort of thing that some Customers might enjoy.

And it certainly would be remarkable to pull up next to one at a stoplight.

What does Cadillac Premium Care Maintenance mean?

This week Cadillac announced it will provide owners of all 2011 models with frequently required maintenance services for the first four years or 50,000 miles as it seeks to build the best customer service experience in the luxury segment.

Cadillac Premium Care Maintenance covers scheduled oil changes, tire rotations, replacement of engine and cabin air filters and a multi-point vehicle inspection.

At my local Cadillac dealer, an oil change would cost around $85 (modern Cadillacs use synthetic oil, which is more expensive).  Rotate tires with multi-point inspection is $15.99 on a coupon, so say $25 without;  tire rotation occurs every 5K or so.  Replacement of engine air filter is $8, (with every other oil change) and cabin air filters are $25 (once in the period).  The total financial value of Cadillac Premium Care Maintenance might run 10 oil changes at $85, 10 tire rotations at $25, 5 engine air filters at $40 and 1 cabin filter at $25 for $1,165 of covered maintenance over the first 4 years.

The true value of Cadillac Premium Care Maintenance however is the knowledge and surety that your Cadillac will get the very best care available by trained Technicians at the Cadillac Dealer.  Especially with frequently available Concierge Service, Cadillac service is just a matter of having the Dealer pick up your Cadillac, dropping off a Loan vehicle.  Once service is completed they bring your Cadillac home.  No fuss, no muss, fresh, clean and properly maintained.
