Cadillac SRX leads Dec 2011 Sales

Lots of happy holiday arrivals for Cadillac SRX owners with 7,324 finding new homes in December.  The current edition Cadillac SRX continues to sell well.

The Cadillac CTS sales followed well at 5,420 combined sales of the CTS Coupe, CTS Sedan, CTS Sport Wagon, and V-Series models.

Escalade sales were muted, with gas prices up.  Escalade continues to be a solid seller.

2011 December Cadillac Sales

Overall Cadillac improved sales by 3.7% for 2011, which should be viewed as a major transition year.  With the DTS and STS retiring ahead of the arrival of the XTS and ATS one could easily predict this would be a challenging year for total sales.  Sales growth in transition is something to be happy about.

SRX sales outpaced steady CTS sales for November 2011.    Overall as expected with the DTS to XTS gap total Cadillac sales were down.

The good news here is that SRX sales continue to shine, up 11.5% per sales day.

SRX leads Cadillac Oct 11 Sales

Overall Cadillac sales were down 12% in Oct 2011 as compared to Oct 2010.  The disappearance of the Cadillac DTS from the showroom made the primary difference in sales from last year; add in those 1.3K sales and this year would be flat to last year.  To keep some perspective, Oct 2010 was a strong month, up 15% from 2009.

The Cadillac SRX sales were the highlight, at 4.9K units for the month, up 12.7% overall or 17% per sales day.  CTS sales were strong although down somewhat from 2010 at 3.9K units for the month vs 4.2K last year.

Summary:  Arrival of the Cadillac XTS and ATS in the summer and Autumn of 2012 should rapidly improve Cadillac sales.
