Cadillac March 2011 Sales up slightly on strong CTS, SRX sales

Cadillac sales in March were up slightly from last year, 4.5%.

CTS sales were up 36%, and SRX sales were flat.  DTS sales dropped off 26%.  Overall this looks like Cadillac took a breather after a strong sales report last month.

Hopefully CTS Sedan & Coupe sales can climb back to 4K+ per month to offset declines in the DTS until the XTS can get to market.

Cadillac Feb 2011 Sales Up a Luxurious 70%

Feb 2011 Cadillac sales were up an even 70% on very strong CTS sales.  CTS sales were up 124%;  SRX sales were up 55%.   The release mentions that CTS sales were strong due to the new Coupe release, although it also confusingly suggests the Sedan is all new.  Perhaps the Coupe is succeeding in bringing more Buyers into the showroom, where they then realize that the CTS Sedan really is a better lifestyle fit?  The CTS Coupe really is great looking though.

Retail sales continued to be strong, with 159% sales growth from last year.

Lots of snow days lots of places in the US make the availability of all-wheel drive on the CTS and SRX inviting, and may be a significant factor in sales.

Press Release:

  • Cadillac: Cadillac reported total sales of 15,768 for February – 70 percent higher than last February, with retail sales increasing 83 percent. February was the 13th consecutive month of year-over-year total and retail sales gains. CTS retail sales rose 159 percent, driven by strong demand for the all-new CTS Coupe and Sedan.  SRX retail sales were up 62 percent compared to a year ago, and the Escalade family saw retail sale rise 27 percent versus February last year

Cadillac January 2011 US Sales up 49%

SRX and CTS sales continued to anchor Cadillac Line sales for January 2011.  DTS sales were up over 2010, but continue to fade awaiting the arrival of the new XTS replacement.  Escalade sales were up for all three models.

The discontinued XLR convertible managed -1 deliveries, which I suppose means one that had been reported as sold was not after all.

Continued good showing for CTS and SRX.  If Cadillac can have a good release on the XTS and bring the ATS to market on schedule sales should blossom.
