Cadillac Product Line Highlights for 2007

CADILLAC MOVES INTO SECOND PHASE OF RENAISSANCE:
ESCALADE, V-SERIES LEAD A MORE AMBITIOUS, ELEGANT WAVE OF NEW PRODUCTS

Few automotive brands have achieved what Cadillac has in recent years – a complete product renaissance and extreme makeover of dramatic proportions. The first phase established Cadillac’s new design and serious performance. Now, this historic renaissance moves into a second, even more ambitious era focusing on more elegant product executions.

The 2007 model year marks an important milestone in Cadillac’s march back to prominence among the world’s finest luxury brands. The completely redesigned family of Escalade SUVs aims to extend Cadillac’s leadership in that luxury category. The SRX crossover boasts a more luxurious new interior, in addition to its award-winning performance. And, the landmark V-Series cars (XLR-V, STS-V and CTS-V) continue to explore the potential of the division’s performance, luxury and exclusivity.

This new phase of the division’s renaissance aims to continue Cadillac’s noteworthy progress in dramatic designs and enhanced performance. “Phase two” also adds a renewed emphasis on more elegantly detailed products. This will be achieved with a blend of advanced technology with hand-craftsmanship that harkens back to Cadillac’s origins as a custom luxury coach builder. The new interiors of the SRX crossover, as well as the STS-V and XLR-V, feature interior components cut, sewn and wrapped by hand, bringing extreme accuracy and attention to detail.

The Supercharged Northstar V-8 engine powering the STS-V and XLR-V is hand-assembled to exacting standards at GM’s Performance Build Center in Wixom , Mich. Each engine is built from start to finish by a single expert craftsman. The new Escalade features a completely distinct and luxurious new interior, with touches such as sleek, blue-tinted instrument gauge needles and high technology features such as power release second-row seats and a rearview camera system.

Here is a summary of Cadillac’s new product initiatives for 2007.

Escalade: The all-new 2007 Cadillac Escalade, the next generation of the iconic luxury SUV, establishes a new level of power, style and elegance and introduces the next step in Cadillac’s ongoing renaissance.

Based on General Motors’ all-new full-size SUV platform, the ’07 Escalade features new powertrain, chassis, safety and interior systems. These integrated systems deliver the most powerful, efficient luxury SUV in the segment, led by a new 6.2L all-aluminum V-8 engine with variable valve timing technology delivering 403 horsepower (301 kW)* and 417 lb.-ft. of torque (565 Nm).*

Escalade has a sleeker, cleaner and more athletic form with improved aerodynamics, while appearing smaller in stature than its predecessor. It is instantly identifiable and incorporates styling cues from Cadillac’s landmark Sixteen concept vehicle, including a more detailed signature grille, front fender vent ports and layers of chrome accents.

An all-new interior is a cornerstone of the new Escalade and sets a new standard for refinement. The warm and inviting interior is complemented with premium materials and a distinct layout not shared with any other GM full-size SUV .

Cadillac Escalade is available now in dealer showrooms.

Escalade EXT: The all-new 2007 Cadillac Escalade EXT brings unmatched versatility to the completely redesigned Escalade family of luxury SUVs. Its unique Sport Utility Truck (SUT) body style gives it a part-SUV, part-pickup profile, blending functionality with luxury.

With the industry-exclusive Midgate panel, owners can easily convert the EXT from a five-passenger SUV into a two-passenger pickup with 9 feet of protected and secured storage. The Midgate, located behind the rear seat, can be folded into the cabin, enabling the cargo area to expand from 5 feet to 8 feet, for a total of 101 cu. ft. in secured volume. A lockable standard tonneau cover protects items in the cargo bed, or can be removed entirely for added space.

Escalade EXT is identical to the standard-length Escalade from the front doors forward, and is as long as the extended-length ESV model. The EXT shares all the comprehensive upgrades of the new Escalade. It has a sleek, clean and athletic form with improved aerodynamics. It is instantly identifiable and incorporates styling cues from Cadillac’s landmark Sixteen concept vehicle, including a more detailed signature grille, front fender vent ports and layers of chrome accents.

The Escalade EXT with all-wheel drive is in dealerships in summer 2006 .

Escalade ESV: The 2007 Cadillac Escalade ESV, also all-new, is the largest member of the family, offering maximum passenger accommodations and cargo capacity. Combining power, size and strength with trademark Cadillac styling and technology, the full-size Escalade ESV complements the Escalade and Escalade EXT.

Like its siblings, the ESV features new powertrain, chassis, safety and interior systems.

Escalade ESV is identical to the standard Escalade from the front doors forward. It, too, is instantly identifiable and incorporates styling cues from Cadillac’s landmark Sixteen concept vehicle, including a more detailed signature grille, front fender vent ports and layers of chrome accents.

The Escalade ESV with all-wheel drive is available in spring 2006.

STS-V: The supercharged 2007 Cadillac STS-V is General Motors’ most intense expression of Cadillac power and performance yet. It has the sophistication of its STS sibling, yet elevates the performance and luxury attributes of the brand’s growing V-Series lineup. The STS-V debuted in late 2005, representing an historic combination of performance technology and hand-crafted elegance.

The 469-horsepower STS-V is the most powerful Cadillac ever. It is capable of exceptional performance for an automobile of its size. Each 4.4-liter Supercharged Northstar V-8 engine is hand-assembled to exacting standards at GM’s Performance Build Center in Wixom , Mich. , and is built from start to finish by a single expert craftsman.

The 2007 STS-V also marks the initial phase of Cadillac’s cut-and-sew approach to interiors, with extensive use of leather-wrapped interior surfaces created by craftsmen who cut, wrap and sew leather components individually.

XLR-V: The 2007 Cadillac XLR-V is a landmark car in Cadillac’s long history. XLR-V elevates the performance and luxury attributes of the brand’s growing V-Series lineup to the fullest extent.

XLR-V is the quickest, most agile and most exclusive Cadillac ever offered. Launched in early 2006, the supercharged XLR-V also adopts Cadillac’s cut-and-sew philosophy.

The 443-horsepower supercharged Northstar V-8 engine powering the XLR-V is hand assembled to exacting standards at GM’s Performance Build Center in Wixom , Mich. Like with STS-V, each engine is built from start to finish by a single expert craftsman.

SRX: The award-wining SRX luxury crossover enters the 2007 model year with a redesigned interior. The all-new cockpit is more luxurious and spacious, featuring a new instrument panel, hand-wrapped upper trim, console, center stack, door trim, wood trim, analog clock and steering wheel.

The instrument panel and door trim use Cadillac’s new cut-and-sew interior process. The vehicle’s new cockpit is hand-built, in the same painstaking fashion Cadillac applies to the limited-production STS-V and XLR-V models, bringing elite craftsmanship into the heart of the luxury marketplace.

New for 2007 is the 6L50 Hydra-Matic six speed transmission that provides increased performance and fuel efficiency. First introduced on Cadillac’s acclaimed STS-V and XLR-V Series in 2006, the new transmission is now standard for rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive V-8 models.

DTS: The redesigned and renamed DTS debuted last year, continuing the legacy of the DeVille, its former iteration, which commanded nearly 50 percent of sales in its segment for nearly two decades.

For 2007, Cadillac refines DTS by adding more standard equipment and revising its interior and exterior color palettes.

For 2007, chrome wheels – with new center caps now featuring the wreath & crest rendered in color – are standard on all models. Popular options such as XM Satellite Radio, cargo mat and rear sunshades – previously available on top-of-the-line packages – are now expanded to become included on more of DTS’s several packages.

In addition, the DTS receives a distinct Cadillac keyfob that will begin appearing across many Cadillac models in 2007, with a more refined appearance in a more compact package. The DVD navigation system adds maps for Korea and Taiwan , and Arabic replaces Italian on the driver information center. The analog clock on the instrument panel has also been revised for better readability.

XLR: The Cadillac XLR retractable hardtop convertible is a striking presence, and in 2007, two new special-edition XLR models – XLR Platinum and Passion Red – add exclusivity and elegance to Cadillac’s landmark roadster. Platinum, first used on a special Escalade model, is Cadillac’s designator for special-edition vehicles that inject even more luxury to the brand’s portfolio.

Cadillac also will debut a Passion Red Special Edition XLR model for 2007, featuring a chrome grille, 18-inch chrome wheels and numbered sill plate. Cadillac will manufacture 200 units of this 2007-only special model. The Passion Red XLR follows 2006’s Star Black special edition that was quickly sold out.

The XLR also upgrades to a six-speed automatic, features Generation 7 OnStar technology for 2007 (for more information, see the OnStar overview in the corporate book) and adds a redesigned key fob unique to Cadillac.

STS: The STS luxury performance sedan delivers sophisticated luxury and rear-wheel/all-wheel drive capability in a contemporary package.

New for 2007 is the 6L50 Hydra-Matic six speed transmission that provides increased performance and fuel efficiency. The transmission, first introduced on Cadillac’s acclaimed STS-V and XLR-V in 2006, is standard on AWD and RWD V-8-equipped models. The new transmission features a generous 6.04:1 overall ratio that delivers strong launch acceleration yet provides “tall” overdrive ratios that decrease engine rpm to enhance fuel economy and reduce noise levels while cruising at highway speeds. Estimates by GM engineers have shown nearly 7 percent improvement in 0-to-60 mph times and up to a 5 percent improvement in fuel efficiency.

CTS: The 2007 CTS extends the impressive record of success for Cadillac’s popular and distinctive luxury sport sedan. Built on GM’s acclaimed and Cadillac exclusive luxury rear-wheel drive structure, CTS set the groundwork for the award-winning SRX and standout STS. As a result of its design and performance, CTS has become a long-term sales success for Cadillac, with annual sales increasing through the car’s first four model years in the marketplace, an industry rarity.

For 2007, the CTS adds OnStar’s Connections and Directions to its NavTraffic service. Connections and Directions features access to driving directions, vehicle diagnostics, remote door unlock, stolen vehicle location assistance, concierge services and much more.

CTS-V: The 400-horsepower (298 kW) CTS-V is the founding member of Cadillac’s V-Series, a club of exclusive vehicles that represent the full expression of Cadillac performance and luxury.

Designed to compete with the world’s absolute best high-performance sedans, CTS-V is the production counterpart to Cadillac’s CTS-V race car that is the defending champion in the SPEED World Challenge GT series.

Based on Cadillac’s performance-oriented rear-drive luxury architecture, CTS-V is a highly refined high-performance luxury sedan. The CTS-V features a 6.0L V-8 engine with a six-speed manual transmission and performance-tuned suspension, as well as numerous exterior and interior design touches.

Cadillac Product Line Highlights for 2006

CADILLAC PRODUCT RESURGANCE CONTINUES WITH ALL-NEW DTS, STS-V AND XLR-V PERFORMANCE VARIANTS

Few automotive brands have achieved what Cadillac has in recent years – a complete product renaissance and extreme makeover of dramatic proportions. All along, t he first and most important objective has been to develop compelling, high-quality vehicles with bold design, breakthrough technology and world-class performance.

In doing so, Cadillac has carefully preserved the qualities relevant to luxury consumers and translated them into products with the performance, features and benefits that appeal to 21 st-century buyers.

For the 2006 model year, Cadillac refines its lineup and debuts the all-new DTS, STS-V and XLR-V.

DTS. The latest Cadillac passenger car, the DTS front-wheel drive large luxury sedan features Cadillac-signature exterior styling, a luxurious interior and powerful, refined ride characteristics. It is equipped with the Northstar 4.6L V-8 engine in two configurations and mated to the Hydra-Matic 4T80-E four-speed automatic transmission. The DTS replaces the DeVille, a longtime symbol of Cadillac luxury.

The DTS offers a smooth, quiet, refined ride, plentiful comfort, convenience and safety offerings and helps reinforce Cadillac’s long-standing reputation for safe occupant environments in premium vehicles.

STS-V. The STS-V carries the craftsmanship and sophistication of its STS sibling, but at an entirely different level. Designed for everyday driving, the STS-V delivers supercharged, rear-drive performance with an elegant design statement that is unmistakably Cadillac.

Its 4.4L supercharged, dual overhead cam Northstar engine produces 469 horsepower (350 kw) at 6400 rpm and 430 lb.-ft. (583 Nm) of torque at 3600 rpm (power and torque figures estimated). Numerous interior and exterior design changes brand it as one of the V-Series performance models.

XLR-V. The 2006 Cadillac XLR-V ultra-luxury, high-performance roadster sets new standards in power, performance and personal amenities, combining distinctive, bold styling with contemporary luxury, ingenious technology and rear-wheel drive performance.

Powered by the Northstar V-8 SC (supercharged), the XLR-V produces 440 horsepower (328 kw) at 6400 rpm and 425 lb.-ft. (576 Nm) torque at 3600 rpm – and the engine’s power is underscored by its ability to deliver 90 percent of its peak torque between 2200 and 6000 rpm. The Northstar SC also features variable valve timing that enables outstanding top-end performance while maintaining the expected refinement and quality associated with a luxury marque.

The XLR-V also features numerous performance, chassis and design enhancements.

CTS-V. The first V-Series vehicle, the CTS-V offers high-performance driving enthusiasts a serious, credible alternative to imports in the highly competitive, low-volume luxury performance segment.

For 2006, four-door, rear-wheel drive CTS-V receives a new engine, the overhead valve 6.0L V-8 LS2 engine (replacing the LS6). It produces the same 400 horsepower (298 kw) and 395 lb.-ft. (536 Nm) of torque, and achieves 0-60 mph in 4.6 seconds. It does the quarter mile in 13.10 seconds at 109 mph. In addition, the power sunroof will now be standard equipment.

STS. The all-new Cadillac STS luxury performance sedan delivers precision craftsmanship, outstanding performance and sophisticated luxury in a distinctly American package.

For 2006, the STS receives several enhancements. All-wheel drive becomes available on the V-6 models. Bose 5.1 Studio Surround Sound with Navigation is now standard on the V-8 1SE package. In addition, STS has three new exterior colors.

CTS. CTS is a modern interpretation of the strikingly beautiful cars that made Cadillac famous. For 2006, the CTS features a new 18-Inch Sport Performance Package and 18-Inch Sport Appearance Package with performance tires and polished nine-spoke wheels; new performance brakes; revised suspension tuning and more.

Also, for the first time, Driver Shift Control will be standard on all 2006 CTS models with automatic transmission. The shifter has been specifically designed for precise shifter feel and responsive inputs to commanded shifts.

XLR. The XLR’s dynamic design and advanced technology has brought a striking new presence to the automotive spectrum. A luxury roadster with performance car roots, XLR underscores its visual statement with a performance-oriented chassis and structure, and a 4.6L Northstar V-8 VVT (variable valve timing) rear-wheel drive engine. This combination makes it the lightest, most powerful vehicle in its class.

For 2006, an adaptive forward lighting system, a first-time application on a Cadillac, improves night driving vision. In addition, XM Satellite Radio with hidden antenna is now a standard feature on all 2006 XLR models. The center stack includes more wood detail in the areas surrounding the CD opening and HVAC. Gold Mist and Infrared exterior paint colors replace Satin Nickel and Crimson Pearl.

SRX. The Cadillac SRX delivers performance and flexibility to the medium luxury utility segment in a distinctive package. Its smooth, nimble handling and cargo-carrying ability combine to create a utility vehicle that drives like a sports sedan.

For 2006, SRX features several enhancements, including a standard power rear liftgate; best-in-class step-over for easier vehicle exiting and an enhanced optional interior package with wood on the center stack. Also new is a Cashmere interior scheme and new exterior colors including Stealth Grey, Radiant Bronze, Blackberry and Infrared. Restyled 17-inch and 18-inch wheels have an aggressive design with six exposed lugs and prominent wreath and crest center cap.

Escalade. The Escalade symbolizes Cadillac’s commitment to bold, breakthrough products. But perhaps more importantly, it has served as a beacon for new buyers into the division and a symbol of Cadillac’s revitalization.

Its bold design is instantly recognizable as a Cadillac, and its Vortec 6000 6.0L V-8 achieves 345 horsepower (257 kw) at 5200 rpm and 380 lb.-ft. of torque (515 Nm) at 4000 rpm. The Escalade is unchanged for 2006.

Escalade EXT . Like Escalade, the Escalade EXT sport utility truck has exposed the division to new generations and categories of buyers who might not have considered Cadillac in the past.

For 2006, two refinements improve the Escalade EXT. First, an optional power sliding tonneau cover opens and closes at a touch of a button. It covers the bed and replaces the three rigid manual tonneau covers. Also new is a sliding load floor, which holds about 1,000 pounds (453.6 kg) of cargo (late introduction).

The vehicle is powered by th e best-in-class Vortec 6000 6.0L V-8 that cranks out 345 horsepower (257 kw) at 5200 rpm and 380 lb.-ft. of torque (515 Nm) at 4000 rpm. The engine links to the Hydra-Matic 4L65-E heavy-duty electronically controlled four-speed automatic transmission with overdrive.

Escalade ESV. The Escalade ESV has strongly positioned Cadillac in the large luxury SUV market. Combining power, size and strength with trademark Cadillac styling and technology, the full-size Escalade ESV complements its siblings, the Escalade and Escalade EXT.

The Escalade ESV’s Vortec 6000 6.0L V-8 engine cranks out 345 horsepower ( 257 kw) at 5200 rpm and 380 lb.-ft. of torque (515 Nm) at 4000 rpm. That’s more than enough power to handle steep grades or a heavily weighted two-horse trailer.

Cadillac also has created the ultimate full-size luxury SUV with the Escalade ESV Platinum Edition, featuring a lavishly appointed interior, along with power, technology and a new level of sophistication.

Escalade ESV is unchanged for the 2006 model year.

Cadillac Product Line Highlights for 2005

CADILLAC’S PRODUCT RENAISSANCE CONTINUES IN 2005 WITH ALL-NEW STS

Over the past several years, Cadillac has laid the groundwork to revitalize its vehicle lineup. All along, the first and most important objective has been to develop high quality vehicles with dramatic, breakthrough design and world-class performance.

In doing so, Cadillac has carefully preserved the qualities relevant to luxury consumers and translated them into products with the size, performance, features and benefits that appeal to 21st century buyers.

Today, the division has momentum. In 2003 Cadillac delivered its best U.S. sales performance since 1990. U.S. sales have increased by 44,000 units in the last two years, with most of the growth occurring in segments previously dominated by import competition.

Cadillac’s near-term objective is to return to elite premium brand status, while the long-term vision is to be recognized again as “The Standard of the World.”

The results of the effort are beginning to be seen. Cadillac ranks second in the most recent J.D. Power and Associates Initial Quality Survey. The new Lansing Grand River Assembly plant, which manufactures several Cadillac models, had the highest initial quality of any plant in North and South America. And the Cadillac CTS, DeVille, XLR, Escalade, Escalade EXT and Escalade ESV all earned top three places in the J.D. Power IQS survey for their respective segments.

For the 2005 model year, Cadillac refines its entire lineup and debuts the all-new STS.

STS: The 2005 STS replaces the Seville, and it combines the best of the brand into a luxury performance sedan that has been designed to deliver precision craftsmanship, exceptional performance and sophisticated luxury. Based on GM’s rear-wheel-drive Sigma architecture, STS will be available with a 255 horsepower (190 kw)3.6L V-6 in a rear-drive configuration, or the 320 horsepower (238 kw)Northstar 4.6L V-8 in rear- and all-wheel-drive. Both engines incorporate variable valve timing (VVT) and are mated to widely acclaimed Hydra-Matic five-speed automatic transmissions with Driver Shift Control.

CTS: The CTS was the first passenger car with Cadillac’s new design language. Its bold styling and sharp creases is a modern interpretation of the strikingly beautiful cars that made Cadillac famous. This year, buyers have more choices with a new entry level model with a new 2.8L, 210-horsepower (156 kw) engine. The higher-end CTS with the 3.6L V-6 VVT engine receives a new six-speed manual transmission. Built on GM’s acclaimed Sigma rear-wheel-drive architecture, CTS was the first North American vehicle to be rigorously tested at the famed Nurburgring racetrack in Germany.

CTS-V: An essential part of Cadillac’s product plan is to re-establish its heritage for explosive power with refined performance. This is where the new V-Series plays a critical role. The CTS-V represents the best of what Cadillac has to offer in terms of sophistication and luxury performance. It also is the most powerful production model the division has ever offered, with 400 horsepower (298 kw). Based on Cadillac’s performance-oriented rear-drive Sigma architecture, CTS-V is a highly refined high-performance luxury sedan designed for performance enthusiast drivers. The CTS-V also is the foundation for the CTS-V race car.

SRX: The award-winning Cadillac SRX has delivered performance and flexibility to the medium luxury utility segment, which it helped define. For 2005, SRX features minor updates, such as a new instrument cluster with chrome rings, darker privacy glass, standard navigation on the V-8 (optional on V-6). In addition, SRX will have optional trailering capability on the V-6, expanded towing capacity (available mid-year) of up to 4,250 pounds (1,928 kg) andoptionalMagnetic Ride Control available on RWD and AWD.

XLR: Since it debuted in 2003, the XLR has received positive response from the press, public and dealers alike. This year, the XLR buyer can choose either Dark or Light Eucalyptus interior and Blue Steel exterior paint. The XLR is a contemporary expression of Cadillac’s heritage of landmark design and advanced technology. Inspired by stealth fighter design, XLR brought the ongoing product-driven resurgence of Cadillac – led by Escalade and CTS – to an entirely new level.

Escalade: Few vehicles have generated as much buzz as the Escalade in recent years.  An instant hit with professional athletes, musicians, movie stars and automotive enthusiasts, Escalade’s strong lines and self-assured stance have attracted younger, affluent buyers to Cadillac, inspired song lyrics and created quite a following. Cadillac sold nearly 60,000 Escalades in 2003, its best year yet, and it also was No. 1 in its segment. This year, Escalade receives a new instrument cluster, navigation upgrades and the AWD moves up to the Vortec 6000 6.0L V-8 midyear.

Escalade EXT: A sport utility truck, with elements of a luxury SUV and pickup truck, the Escalade EXT is Cadillac’s novel, groundbreaking interpretation of the genre and a bold, brash symbol of Cadillac’s reinvigoration. For 2005, the Escalade EXT also receives the new instrument cluster, navigation upgrades and other subtle changes.

Escalade ESV: Last year, the Escalade ESV Platinum Edition moved Cadillac into the luxury SUV market. The vehicle is the roomiest, most powerful full-size luxury SUV available. It’s 22 inches (55.9 cm) longer than Escalade, with more than 20 extra inches (50.8 cm) of interior length, translating into more premium seating and cargo-carrying capability. The 2005 model year brings subtle refinements, including the new instrument cluster, all-new cooling system and Gen 6 OnStar hardware.

DeVille: Cadillac owns nearly 50 percent of the North American large luxury sedan segment, and is not taking its eye off of this important market. This year the DeVille receives three new exterior colors and sixth-generation OnStar hardware. And next year Cadillac will introduce an all-new DTS that will bring the vehicle’s styling more in line with the Cadillac design language, along with significant interior enhancements.
