The cover works as a total protective system, the pinnacle of cover technology.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>A key concern here in Texas is keeping the cover on in the wind.\u00a0 This cover came with options <a title=\"GustGuard\" href=\"http:\/\/www.empirecovers.com\/detail.aspx?p=1167&amp;source=search\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Empire Covers Gust Guard<\/a> tie-downs front and back, and the bag stays attached via a lanyard to the cover itself.\u00a0 The Gust Guard is a separate product that works with the cover to keep it in place when you anticipate more wind than the elastic band on the bottom of the cover can accommodate.\u00a0 The GustGuard on the Empire site uses bungee cords, but the one I received has 2 adjustable straps.\u00a0 Either would work; I mention the difference only for clarity.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/caddyinfo.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/GustGuard.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-9871\" title=\"GustGuard\" src=\"http:\/\/caddyinfo.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/GustGuard-1024x533.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"533\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.caddyinfo.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/GustGuard-1024x533.jpg 1024w, http:\/\/www.caddyinfo.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/GustGuard-500x260.jpg 500w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>With the ties on the cover and the Gust Guard, the Empire car cover should stay in place even in a strong wind and be effective in protecting the car from sun or dust.\u00a0 Because the Gust Guard connecting straps are easy-on, easy-off, no worries about them getting in the way or scratching the paint when putting the cover on or off.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/caddyinfo.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/100_1594.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-9859\" title=\"100_1594\" src=\"http:\/\/caddyinfo.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/100_1594-1024x682.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"682\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.caddyinfo.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/100_1594-1024x682.jpg 1024w, http:\/\/www.caddyinfo.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/100_1594-500x333.jpg 500w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>To avoid my initial error, having the bag attached to the cover acts as a quick identifier for the &#8216;back&#8217; of the cover, and keeps the bag from getting lost.<\/p>\n<p>Disclosure:\u00a0 Empirecovers provided the car cover for free so that I could review it.<\/p>\n<h2>Summary:<\/h2>\n<p>The Empire <a title=\"Car Covers\" href=\"http:\/\/www.empirecovers.com\/detail.aspx?p=1167&amp;source=search\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Car Cover<\/a> site was easy to use and I was able to select a cover appropriate to my needs.\u00a0 The Empire Car Cover arrived quickly and was as-described, and fit my Cadillac.\u00a0 It appears to be well constructed, and I am happy with the quality.\u00a0 I believe that the under-car Gust Guard straps will act to keep the cover in place, but I will have to test that in the wind to confirm.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Empire Covers contacted me recently to ask if I would review their Titan Quatro 4L car cover for my 2008 Cadillac STS-V.
