{"id":9076,"date":"2010-12-15T15:36:50","date_gmt":"2010-12-15T21:36:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/caddyinfo.com\/wordpress\/?p=9076"},"modified":"2010-12-15T15:36:50","modified_gmt":"2010-12-15T21:36:50","slug":"appreciating-the-master-craftsman","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.caddyinfo.com\/wordpress\/appreciating-the-master-craftsman\/","title":{"rendered":"Appreciating the Master Craftsman"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Chuck Jordan, former head of Cadillac Design, passed away this month.\u00a0 Mr Jordan contributed to several important Cadillac designs including the 1959 Cadillac Eldorado and the 1992 Cadillac Seville &amp; STS.\u00a0 He retired from General Motors in 1992.<\/p>\n<div style=\"width: 368px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"1992 Cadillac Seville STS\" src=\"http:\/\/www.caddyinfo.com\/92STSb.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"358\" height=\"226\" \/><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">1992 Cadillac Seville STS<\/p><\/div>\n<p>A 1992 STS was my first contemporary Cadillac, and was a terrific automobile.\u00a0 That design, which continued with some modifications through 1997, still looks classic to me these 18 years since they first hit the street.<\/p>\n<p>I never met Mr. Jordan, but became aware of him for his role in the book &#8220;All Corvettes are Red&#8221; by James Schefter.\u00a0 Nonetheless, I have been a fan of his design work and leadership and I feel it is important to mark the passing of a Master of the craft of Automobile Design.\u00a0\u00a0 The current Cadillac designs are possible and popular because of the design of those 1992 models.\u00a0 Thank you Chuck Jordan.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Chuck Jordan, former head of Cadillac Design, passed away this month.\u00a0 Mr Jordan contributed to several important Cadillac designs including the 1959 Cadillac Eldorado and the 1992 Cadillac Seville &amp; STS.\u00a0 He retired from General Motors in 1992.
