{"id":9059,"date":"2010-11-10T07:01:10","date_gmt":"2010-11-10T13:01:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/caddyinfo.com\/wordpress\/?p=9059"},"modified":"2010-11-10T07:01:10","modified_gmt":"2010-11-10T13:01:10","slug":"gm-achieves-third-consecutive-quarter-of-profitability","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.caddyinfo.com\/wordpress\/gm-achieves-third-consecutive-quarter-of-profitability\/","title":{"rendered":"GM achieves third consecutive quarter of profitability"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We don&#8217;t know yet what is <em>possible <\/em>for the new GM now that it is &#8216;hitting on all cylinders&#8217;, but certainly making money is core to making more exciting new products.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong><em>GM achieves third consecutive quarter of profitability and positive cash flow<br \/>\nNet income of $2.0 billion, earnings per share of $1.20 <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>DETROIT, Mich. \u2013 General Motors Company today announced that for the  third quarter ending September 30, 2010, the company generated:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Revenue of $34.1 billion<\/li>\n<li>Net income attributable to common stockholders of $2.0 billion<\/li>\n<li>Earnings per share on a fully diluted basis and adjusted for 3-1 stock split of $1.20<\/li>\n<li>Earnings before interest and tax (EBIT) of $2.3 billion<\/li>\n<li>Net cash flow from operating activities of $2.6 billion<\/li>\n<li>Free cash flow of $1.4 billion<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u201cAs demonstrated by our third consecutive quarter of profitability  and positive cash flow, these results continue our significant  progress,\u201d said Chris Liddell, vice chairman and chief financial  officer.<\/p>\n<p>GM North America had EBIT in the third quarter 2010 of $2.1 billion,  up from $1.6 billion in the second quarter.\u00a0 GM Europe had a loss before  interest and taxes of $0.6 billion, down from a loss of $0.2 billion in  the second quarter.\u00a0 GM International Operations posted EBIT of $0.6  billion, down from $0.7 billion in the second quarter.<\/p>\n<p>Net cash flow from operating activities was $2.6 billion and after  adjusting for capital expenditures of $1.2 billion, free cash flow was  $1.4 billion.<\/p>\n<p>GM expects to also report positive EBIT for the fourth quarter,  albeit at a significantly lower run rate than each of the first three  quarters, and profitable year-end results for calendar year 2010.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We don&#8217;t know yet what is possible for the new GM now that it is &#8216;hitting on all cylinders&#8217;, but certainly making money is core to making more exciting new products.
