{"id":641,"date":"2008-10-03T23:49:11","date_gmt":"2008-10-04T04:49:11","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/caddyinfo.com\/wordpress\/?p=641"},"modified":"2008-10-03T23:49:11","modified_gmt":"2008-10-04T04:49:11","slug":"caddyinfo-social-sites-and-the-blues","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.caddyinfo.com\/wordpress\/caddyinfo-social-sites-and-the-blues\/","title":{"rendered":"Caddyinfo, Social Sites, and the Blues"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Listening to XM Radio 74 BB King&#8217;s Bluesville and working on Caddyinfo site improvements.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft\" style=\"border: 0pt none; margin: 2px;\" title=\"XM Radio Logo\" src=\"http:\/\/player.xmradio.com\/player\/_media\/xmro_logo.gif\" alt=\"XM Radio Logo\" width=\"104\" height=\"46\" \/><\/p>\n<p>First, I visited <a href=\"http:\/\/caddyinfo.ipbhost.com\/index.php?showforum=47\" target=\"_blank\">Caddyinfo forums<\/a> and answer questions and post updated info about what&#8217;s happening and plans.\u00a0 This actually happens thoughout my work, as I tend to pop back to Caddyinfo to make updates or post items that come up.\u00a0 Next, I made the rounds to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.myspace.com\/caddyinfo\">myspace<\/a>, <a title=\"facebook\" href=\"http:\/\/www.new.facebook.com\/profile.php?id=748676822#\/profile.php?id=748676822&amp;ref=profile\" target=\"_blank\">facebook<\/a>, <a title=\"Linked In\" href=\"http:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/profile?viewProfile=&amp;key=30927516&amp;trk=tab_pro\" target=\"_blank\">linkedin<\/a>, to handle incoming mail, new contacts, etc.\u00a0 Next a quick scan of Yahoo Answers in case there are Cadillac related questions.<\/p>\n<p>I added a flash widget using <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sproutbuilder.com\" target=\"_blank\">Sproutbuilder<\/a> to echo &#8216;tweets&#8217; that I made on twitter.com here on the blog page, on the main page, and on the forum index.\u00a0 Twitter is a near real-time social media comment service.\u00a0 Sort of cell phone messaging (SMS) and a old style BBS combined.\u00a0 One more way to link to people with common interests.<\/p>\n<p>For example, following the major Automotive sites is a natural for me.\u00a0 I also follow family members who post tweets.\u00a0 I am starting to add some non-obvious tweats, such as <a title=\"cfavreau\" href=\"http:\/\/twitter.com\/cfavreau\" target=\"_blank\"><span class=\"fn\">Cristina Favreau<\/span><\/a> who writes the <a href=\"http:\/\/blog.cristinafavreau.com\/\">The Savvy Entrepreneur blog<\/a>.   My sense is that media coaches like Cristina, who focuses on service professionals, can also help with ideas on how to improve Caddyinfo&#8217;s services and reach to our target audience of Cadillac enthusiasts.\u00a0\u00a0 So &#8216;listening in&#8217; on her posts and blog updates hopefully will help sharpen our focus.<\/p>\n<p>Forum update to new forum software tomorrow, Sat 10\/4.\u00a0 Nothing\u00a0 major but some improved code to help limit forum spam.\u00a0 I don&#8217;t mind banning spammers after they post but if we can filter out more of the bots that would save time.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Listening to XM Radio 74 BB King&#8217;s Bluesville and working on Caddyinfo site improvements.
