The bad news is that a lot of the audience is getting the message wrong.  The base Cadillac Escalade is a full size SUV and gets 12 mpg city and 19 mpg highway as found on the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cadillac.com\/cadillacjsp\/model\/landing.jsp?model=escalade&amp;year=2008\" target=\"_blank\">Cadillac website<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.cadillac.com\/cadillacjsp\/model\/landing.jsp?model=escalade&amp;year=2008\" target=\"_blank\"><\/a>The Escalade Hybrid does much better, at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cadillac.com\/cadillacjsp\/model\/landing.jsp?model=hybrid&amp;year=2009\" target=\"_blank\">20 mpg city and 21 mpg highway<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>So what are people saying after watching the commercial?<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Cadillac\u00a0<strong>Escalade hybrid<\/strong> &#8211; 12MPG Highway, 19MPG city. Scares me to think of the mileage it got PRE-hybrid<\/p>\n<p>so an\u00a0<strong>escalade hybrid<\/strong> would get 12 miles per gallon?<\/p>\n<p><span id=\"msgtxt929719233\" class=\"msgtxt en\">Reading the fine print of car commercials is painful to me. Example, the\u00a0<strong>Escalade hybrid<\/strong>: 12 city\/19 highway. Terrible, even for a hybrid<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Cadillac&#8217;s ad agency needs to fix this quickly. \u00a0You only get one chance to make a first impression. \u00a0Apparently the commercial says the Escalade Hybrid gets 50% better city mpg than the non-Hybrid Escalade. \u00a0The small print (thank you Lawyers!?) shows that this is relative to the non-Hybrid Escalade&#8217;s 13 mpg. \u00a0People are reading the small print to mean <strong>that the Hybrid<\/strong> gets 13 mpg which is wrong. \u00a0The Escalade Hybrid gets 20 mpg City. \u00a0Woops.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The good news is there are a LOT of tweets lately on the social media site Twitter.com about the new Cadillac Escalade Hybrid.
