they gave up on American made cars years ago and never returned, or simply don&#8217;t <em>focus <\/em>on automobiles.\u00a0 Now that Cadillac IS making some very intriguing, exciting Automobiles, you may not be familiar with the current Cadillac line-up.<\/p>\n<p>Cadillac has a good consumer site<a href=\"http:\/\/www.cadillac.com\" target=\"_blank\"> here<\/a>, among other sites, but it may be too MUCH information.\u00a0 This blog entry is intended as a primer on what Cadillac is up to these days in one easy page.\u00a0 I have included links from each model to the portion of the Cadillac site with more info on that model.\u00a0 To look in depth at each model there, choose &#8220;build your own&#8221;; Economic, efficient, and attractive.\u00a0 New for 2010.\u00a0 The previous SRX ran from 2004-2009, and was a &#8216;tall wagon&#8217; based on the CTS Sigma architecture.\u00a0 This new model is on a new platform.\u00a0 Cadillac still refers to the new model as a cross-over. Available with 265 hp 3L V6 or 300 hp 2.8L V6 Turbo engines.\u00a0 Front wheel drive (FWD) or All wheel drive (AWD).\u00a0 Good all-weather, carry-all luxury SUV. Starts at US$33,330 (how cute is that?).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Escalade Family<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<div style=\"width: 528px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"Cadillac Escalade\" src=\"http:\/\/www.caddyinfo.com\/cadillac_2010_escalade-trans.png\" alt=\"Cadillac Escalade\" width=\"518\" height=\"114\" \/><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Cadillac Escalade<\/p><\/div>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.cadillac.com\/pages\/open\/default\/family\/escalade.do\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Escalade , Escalade Hybrid,\u00a0 Escalade ESV, Escalade EXT<\/strong><\/a>:\u00a0 full-size SUV.\u00a0 The Escalade Hybrid has a 2-mode hybrid powerplant, and gets 50% better fuel economy.\u00a0 Escalade ESV is an extended length variant, with more storage space.\u00a0 Escalade EXT has a pick-up truck like rear section, with a 4-seat front section.\u00a0 Available with rear-wheel drive (RWD) or all-wheel drive (AWD).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Discontinued after 2010<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.cadillac.com\/pages\/open\/default\/family\/xlr.do\" target=\"_blank\">XLR<\/a> : a 2-seat Cadillac personal luxury car.\u00a0 Corvette chassis, Cadillac Northstar V8, or in the XLR-V Supercharged V8.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.cadillac.com\/vehicles\/2010\/sts\/overview.do\" target=\"_blank\">STS<\/a>:\u00a0 a larger version of the previous CTS.\u00a0 Excellent Sedan, and offers the 302 HP 3.6L V6 or a 320 hp Northstar V8.\u00a0 Rear wheel drive or All wheel drive.\u00a0 Higher standard features and more high end options available than on the CTS, but not visually as striking, although much improved with the last update.\u00a0 STS and DTS to be merged into the upcoming <a href=\"http:\/\/caddyinfo.com\/wordpress\/?cat=197\" target=\"_blank\">XTS<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Certified Pre-Owned<\/strong>:\u00a0 The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cadillac.com\/cpo-benefits\/\" target=\"_blank\">Cadillac Certified Pre-Owned program <\/a>gives you the advantage of purchasing a &#8220;known good&#8221; used Cadillac directly from a Cadillac Dealer with an extended warranty.<\/p>\n<p>Also coming soon: (Future Models):<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/caddyinfo.com\/wordpress\/?cat=170\" target=\"_self\">Cadillac Converj <\/a>an extended range electric Cadillac coupe<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/caddyinfo.com\/wordpress\/?cat=30\" target=\"_self\">Cadillac ATS or Alpha<\/a> is a new model that will be smaller and less expensive than the CTS<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/caddyinfo.com\/wordpress\/?cat=197\" target=\"_self\">XTS<\/a>:\u00a0 [UPDATE] large sedan replacement for the STS and DTS.
