{"id":18281,"date":"2018-05-29T19:00:13","date_gmt":"2018-05-30T00:00:13","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.caddyinfo.com\/wordpress\/?p=18281"},"modified":"2018-05-29T19:00:13","modified_gmt":"2018-05-30T00:00:13","slug":"cadillac-xt5-revisited-and-ready","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.caddyinfo.com\/wordpress\/cadillac-xt5-revisited-and-ready\/","title":{"rendered":"Cadillac XT5 Revisited and Ready"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Cadillac XT5 Crossover replaced the SRX in 2017.\u00a0 The newly designed XT5 is the first of several crossovers for Cadillac &#8212; there will be a smaller XT4 and a longer XT6 coming soon.<\/p>\n<p>In terms of size, the XT5 is a mid-size 4 seater with plenty of room behind the back seats.\u00a0 The XT4 will be a smaller 4 seater with less storage room.\u00a0 The XT6 will be a full 6\/7 seater with storage room.<\/p>\n<p>The one I enjoyed for a few days was an XT5 Luxury FWD.\u00a0 The XT5 comes in several successive trims &#8212; Standard, Luxury, Premium Luxury, and Platinum XT5.\u00a0 The Luxury like I drove features:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span class=\"q-descriptive1\">Leather seating surfaces, 8-way adjustable front passenger side, driver and front passenger power lumbar control, driver and front passenger heated seats<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"q-descriptive1\">Memory Package: Includes two presents for power driver\u2019s seat, outside mirrors, tilt-and-telescoping steering column, and driver personalization features<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"q-descriptive1\">Automatic-dimming rearview mirror<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"q-descriptive1\">Heated steering wheel<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"q-descriptive1\">Cargo Management System with adjustable cargo fence and retractable cargo shade<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"q-descriptive1\">UltraView<sup>\u00ae<\/sup>\u00a0Power Sunroof<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"q-descriptive1\">18-inch bright machined face alloy wheels with Light Argent accents<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"q-descriptive1\">Heated and power-adjustable outside mirrors with driver-side auto dimming<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"q-descriptive1\">Lane Change Alert with Side Blind Zone Alert<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"q-descriptive1\">Rear Cross Traffic Alert<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"q-descriptive1\">Rainsense<sup>&#x2122;<\/sup>\u00a0front wipers<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The engine in the XT5 has 310 hp \/ 271 lb-ft of torque, which not too long ago was muscle car territory.\u00a0 The 8-speed automatic transmission was flawless and responsive.<\/p>\n<p>One feature that bears some getting used to &#8212; the shifter.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium\" src=\"http:\/\/www.cadillac.com\/bypass\/seg1_tools\/ddp\/gmna\/assets\/US\/cadillac\/2018\/xt5\/xt5\/large_fs\/MRC.jpg\" width=\"608\" height=\"342\" \/><\/p>\n<p>There are two buttons on the shifter &#8212; one to the left side, and one on top.\u00a0 First, the one on top, marked &#8220;P&#8221;, puts the transmission into PARK.\u00a0 Remember that and you&#8217;ll be good.\u00a0 The one on the left side of the shifter has to be depressed in order to shift either to reverse or drive.\u00a0 Reverse is forward and left, drive is back.<\/p>\n<p>Overall, the XT5 is terrific.\u00a0 It drives great, visibility is complete, and power is plentiful.\u00a0 Safety features are omnipresent.<\/p>\n<p>I am very interested to see the XT4 and XT6 on the road.\u00a0 Based on the XT5, Cadillac knows how to do these.<\/p>\n<p>Thanks to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.crestcars.com\">Crest Cadillac<\/a> for the XT5 test drive.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Cadillac XT5 Crossover replaced the SRX in 2017.\u00a0 The newly designed XT5 is the first of several crossovers for Cadillac &#8212; there will be a smaller XT4 and a longer XT6 coming soon.
