NEW YORK \u2014\u00a0Cadillac\u00a0president Johan de Nysschen bluntly shot down\u00a0rumors\u00a0his brand’s powerful\u00a0twin-turbo V8\u00a0is also headed for the\u00a0Chevy Corvette. Speaking Wednesday at the\u00a0New York Auto Show, he said: “Just quit the speculation it’s headed for\u00a0Corvette. It’s not.”<\/p>\n
The 4.2-liter V8 cranks out 550 horsepower and 627 pound-feet of torque in the\u00a0Cadillac CT6\u00a0V-Sport, which debuted at the show. With that kind of performance and the fact the engine will be hand-built at the\u00a0General Motors Performance Build Center\u00a0in Bowling Green, Ky. \u2014 at the Corvette factory \u2014 led enthusiasts to presume the engine would eventually be under the Vette’s hood.<\/p>\n
