say after 10 min at 6000 RPM it added &#8212; but there is not.\u00a0 For this tune I removed that variable in order to study the impact from 6000-6400.\u00a0 Since\u00a0 there were few other changes in the tune we are focused on the 6000-6400 RPM range.<\/p>\n<p>Specific Changes in Tune 5D:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>raise piston protection rpm to 8192<\/li>\n<li>reduce IAT retard<\/li>\n<li>point advance reductions around 5400 rpm to eliminate slight KR<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/caddyinfo.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/XLR-Tune-5D-test-1.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-17679\" src=\"http:\/\/caddyinfo.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/XLR-Tune-5D-test-1-1024x623.png\" alt=\"XLR Tune 5D test 1\" width=\"584\" height=\"355\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.caddyinfo.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/XLR-Tune-5D-test-1-1024x623.png 1024w, http:\/\/www.caddyinfo.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/XLR-Tune-5D-test-1-500x304.png 500w, http:\/\/www.caddyinfo.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/XLR-Tune-5D-test-1-493x300.png 493w, http:\/\/www.caddyinfo.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/XLR-Tune-5D-test-1.png 1634w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 584px) 100vw, 584px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The blue line is today&#8217;s test.\u00a0 The red line is Tune 5B in hotter weather.\u00a0 From 6000 to 6500 rpm the Blue line goes up 4 whp from 224 whp to 228 whp instead of staying flat as in prior tests.<\/p>\n<p>The Virtual Dyno test results always seem muted in cooler air, which is counter intuitive.\u00a0 I wonder if there are other factors such as the air pressure in the tires (reduced in cooler weather) which are impacting the test results.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/caddyinfo.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/XLR-Tune-5D-test-11.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-17680\" src=\"http:\/\/caddyinfo.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/XLR-Tune-5D-test-11-1024x739.png\" alt=\"XLR Tune 5D test 1\" width=\"584\" height=\"421\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.caddyinfo.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/XLR-Tune-5D-test-11-1024x739.png 1024w, http:\/\/www.caddyinfo.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/XLR-Tune-5D-test-11-500x361.png 500w, http:\/\/www.caddyinfo.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/XLR-Tune-5D-test-11-416x300.png 416w, http:\/\/www.caddyinfo.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/XLR-Tune-5D-test-11.png 1268w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 584px) 100vw, 584px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The calculated hp in HP VCM Scanner showed a peak of 316 hp.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/caddyinfo.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/XLR-Tune-5D-test-1-peak-torque.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-17681\" src=\"http:\/\/caddyinfo.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/XLR-Tune-5D-test-1-peak-torque-1024x739.png\" alt=\"XLR Tune 5D test 1 peak torque\" width=\"584\" height=\"421\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.caddyinfo.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/XLR-Tune-5D-test-1-peak-torque-1024x739.png 1024w, http:\/\/www.caddyinfo.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/XLR-Tune-5D-test-1-peak-torque-500x361.png 500w, http:\/\/www.caddyinfo.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/XLR-Tune-5D-test-1-peak-torque-416x300.png 416w, http:\/\/www.caddyinfo.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/XLR-Tune-5D-test-1-peak-torque.png 1268w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 584px) 100vw, 584px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The calculated peak torque was 308 lb ft.<\/p>\n<p>Overall I was glad to see a positive impact from 6000-6800 rpm and no knock retard.\u00a0 I am uncertain why cooler weather tests seem to record lower results.\u00a0 My intuition is there is a variable I am not controlling for.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The default XLR programming includes 0.5 AFR richer tuning at 6000 RPM to cool the pistons.\u00a0 Ideally there would be a timer associated with it &#8212;
