the hose itself is plastic.\u00a0 It stretches out like an accordion, and holds it shape once adjusted.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/caddyinfo.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/photo3.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-16428\" alt=\"photo3\" src=\"http:\/\/caddyinfo.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/photo3-1024x764.jpg\" width=\"584\" height=\"435\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.caddyinfo.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/photo3-1024x764.jpg 1024w, http:\/\/www.caddyinfo.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/photo3-500x373.jpg 500w, http:\/\/www.caddyinfo.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/photo3-401x300.jpg 401w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 584px) 100vw, 584px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The coupler for the ducting is tucked into the brake cooling duct.\u00a0 It is a press-tight fit, but I will keep an eye on it and see if it stays in place at speed.\u00a0 I tested up to 45 mph or so and it was still there.\u00a0 I would prefer to put a inner locking ring or similar to ensure it stays in place at speed.<\/p>\n<p>The inner diameter of the brake duct on the Cadillac is larger than the outer diameter of the coupler on the ducting.\u00a0 A 3.5&#8243; already cooler at that point.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/caddyinfo.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/comparison-of-maf-readings.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-16443\" alt=\"comparison of maf readings\" src=\"http:\/\/caddyinfo.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/comparison-of-maf-readings.jpg\" width=\"571\" height=\"666\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.caddyinfo.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/comparison-of-maf-readings.jpg 571w, http:\/\/www.caddyinfo.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/comparison-of-maf-readings-500x583.jpg 500w, http:\/\/www.caddyinfo.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/comparison-of-maf-readings-257x300.jpg 257w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 571px) 100vw, 571px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>In an attempt to discern how to measure a difference, this chart shows the raw mass air flow coming into the intake.\u00a0 This would show if we are presenting the engine with more air, regardless of what the engine is doing with it.\u00a0 Although we might conclude given different days etc these are equivalent, it is notable that the ducted air is ahead of the unducted intake.<\/p>\n<p>The ducting did stay in place through my test drive.\u00a0 I plan to continue to test and evolve this setup.\u00a0 I have a new replacement cone filter on the way also;
