{"id":1385,"date":"2009-10-18T16:33:40","date_gmt":"2009-10-18T21:33:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/caddyinfo.com\/wordpress\/?p=1385"},"modified":"2009-10-18T16:45:07","modified_gmt":"2009-10-18T21:45:07","slug":"cadillac-scorecard-keys-to-luxury-automotive-social-media-use-in-2010","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.caddyinfo.com\/wordpress\/cadillac-scorecard-keys-to-luxury-automotive-social-media-use-in-2010\/","title":{"rendered":"Cadillac scorecard: Keys to Luxury Automotive Social Media Use in 2010"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.forumstrategies.com\" target=\"_blank\">Forum Strategies &amp; Communications<\/a>, a communications and outreach firm in New York has published a new study entitled &#8220;Luxury Auto Brands and Their Presence in Social Media&#8221;.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong>New Study by Forum Strategies &amp; Communications                          and MH Group Communications Examines Social Media Presence                          of Global Luxury Automobile Brands<br \/>\n<\/strong>Luxury car makers are not maximizing the full potential of social media in their communications  \t\t\t\tefforts, according to a new study announced today by independent New York-based consultancies MH Group  \t\t\t\tCommunications and Forum Strategies &amp; Communications.<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.forumstrategies.com\/pdf\/LuxuryAuto.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">Read the press release &gt;<\/a><br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.forumstrategies.com\/pdf\/AutoStudy.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">Read the study&gt;<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The study considers Facebook friends, Twitter followers, YouTube channel subscribers &amp; Flickr group members, with a growth-rate factor applied and ranks the various luxury automotive brands in this order:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">1. BMW<br \/>\n2. Porsche<br \/>\n3. Audi<br \/>\n4. Mercedes<br \/>\n5. Cadillac<br \/>\n6. Lexus<br \/>\n7. Acura<br \/>\n8. Infiniti<br \/>\n9. Lincoln<\/p>\n<p>The Study goes on to suggest Social Media goals for 2010.<\/p>\n<p>Here is my scorecard for Cadillac against the &#8220;2010 Goals&#8221; in the report:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Twitter: I see General Motors and each division within GM participating on Twitter, so <a href=\"http:\/\/twitter.com\/Cadillac\" target=\"_blank\">Cadillac<\/a>&#8216;s Twitter efforts should continue and accelerate.\u00a0 As of this writing they have 747 followers for the &#8220;official&#8221; <a href=\"http:\/\/twitter.com\/Cadillac\" target=\"_blank\">Cadillac twitter account<\/a>, so plenty of room for improvement there.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Facebook:\u00a0 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.facebook.com\/search\/?q=cadillac&amp;init=quick#\/cadillac?ref=ts\" target=\"_blank\">Cadillac <\/a>has a presence with 28K fans.\u00a0 There are 4 Cadillac-related groups, but none of them appear to be actually run by Cadillac.\u00a0\u00a0 Cadillac probably needs a &#8216;friendly takeover&#8217; for the main Cadillac group on Facebook.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Cadillac has a couple of channels on Youtube,\u00a0 including <a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/user\/cadillac\" target=\"_blank\">Cadillac<\/a>, and\u00a0 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/user\/MyCadillacStory#p\/a\" target=\"_blank\">My Cadillac Story<\/a> , which suggests that more clarity is needed here.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Flickr : I see a lot of Groups that include Cadillacs, but I don&#8217;t know an &#8220;official&#8221; group for Cadillac on Flickr.\u00a0 Lots of room for improvement here.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\n<p>Overall:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Encourage and improve networking of fan and dealer sites to clearly tie back to the Official site and messaging to minimize &#8220;clutter&#8221; in the various social media.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Establish a Cadillac Flickr presence.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Solicit Dealer network involvement in driving traffic to Cadillac.com and Cadillac on Facebook, Twitter, and other social media.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Add Social media links on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cadillac.com\" target=\"_blank\">Cadillac.com<\/a> so that fans can receive news and announcements.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Forum Strategies &amp; Communications, a communications and outreach firm in New York has published a new study entitled &#8220;Luxury Auto Brands and Their Presence in Social Media&#8221;.
