{"id":11545,"date":"2012-01-09T10:54:35","date_gmt":"2012-01-09T16:54:35","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/caddyinfo.com\/wordpress\/?p=11545"},"modified":"2012-01-09T11:54:58","modified_gmt":"2012-01-09T17:54:58","slug":"supercharged-3-6l-cadillac-cts","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.caddyinfo.com\/wordpress\/supercharged-3-6l-cadillac-cts\/","title":{"rendered":"Supercharged 3.6L Cadillac CTS?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>KPE is the distributor for a supercharger kit soon to be released by IPF Tuning targeted at the GM LLT 3.6L V6 engine.\u00a0 The stock engine in the 2008-2011 CTS made 304 hp.\u00a0 With this new supercharger a 3.6L V6 would have 400+ hp &#8212; a bit more power than the stock LS6 or LS2 V8s in the 04-08 CTS-V!<\/p>\n<p>The kit targets the LLT due to its use as the standard engine in the Chevrolet Camaro, but fitment there also enables fitment for the Cadillac CTS 3.6L.\u00a0 It is not clear if the same kit will work equally well on the 2012 LFX engines until further testing and tuning has been done.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/caddyinfo.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/01\/supercharger-image2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-11546\" title=\"supercharger-image2\" src=\"http:\/\/caddyinfo.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/01\/supercharger-image2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"826\" height=\"598\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.caddyinfo.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/01\/supercharger-image2.jpg 826w, http:\/\/www.caddyinfo.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/01\/supercharger-image2-500x361.jpg 500w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 826px) 100vw, 826px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>IPF&#8217;s test claims are an improvement to 435 hp and 360 lb ft of torque.\u00a0 For the CTS 3.6L that power would change it from a 6.3s 0-60 time to under 5.1s under ideal conditions, and get it into the 13s in the quarter mile.\u00a0 Cost of the kit for the Camaro is US$5,590, with a $1K deposit for pre-orders.\u00a0 As of this article kits do not appear to be shipping yet.<\/p>\n<p>Although $5K+ seems expensive that is a reasonable market price for a full supercharger kit.\u00a0 Remember there are advantages to buying a pre-engineered kit with some certainty of working properly when installed!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/caddyinfo.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/01\/IMG_3435_2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-11547\" title=\"IMG_3435_2\" src=\"http:\/\/caddyinfo.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/01\/IMG_3435_2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"915\" height=\"657\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.caddyinfo.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/01\/IMG_3435_2.jpg 915w, http:\/\/www.caddyinfo.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/01\/IMG_3435_2-500x359.jpg 500w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 915px) 100vw, 915px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The kit appears to be complete, to allow for easy installation.\u00a0 It includes supercharger, intercooler, and appropriate custom brackets and mounting hardware.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>The Supercharger head unit is a <strong>Vortech V3 Self contained unit<\/strong>! No drilling into the oil pan or complicated plumbing. The intercooler is a thick core for maximum cooling efficiency with minimal pressure drop. Silicone hoses and couplers and stainless steel clamps. All the hardware is high quality and made in the USA. A <strong>Powertrain Warranty is available from IPF and is valid when the kit is installed by an ASE Certified Technician.<\/strong>\u00a0 The kit will sell for <strong>$5590.00<\/strong> plus shipping. The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cornerstoneperformance.com\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Powertrain Warranty<\/strong><\/a> is <strong>$275.00<\/strong> which covers engine and transmission.
