Shifting to 4 cylinders

Many auto manufacturers are shifting toward smaller and more economical engines.  Luckily GM Powertrain has an excellent inline-4 turbo engine called the Ecotec.  This engine is used in the kappa cars — the Saturn Sky Redline, the Pontiac Solstice GXP, and the Opel GT.

It makes 260hp and 260 lb-ft of torque, so almost the same HP output as the FWD Northstar V8.  The torque curve on this engine is basically flat from 2500-5200 rpm, so it is a stump puller.

Should this engine be used in Cadillacs?  YES.   Put this in the base CTS NOW as a replacement for the non-DI 3.6L or as an optional engine.
